Avowed, the action RPG from Obsidian, was one of the surprise announcements at last week’s Xbox Games Showcase. The game was revealed with the help of a brief CG trailer that confirmed first-person combat, and a focus on casting magic spells. Outside of that, however, little else is known about Avowed. Now, according to Resetera forum member Sponger, the game is indeed an open-world RPG that’s several times bigger and denser than Skyrim....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone have a new trailer which gets you up to speed on the story so far, and provides a look at Captain Price who is a new operator in Season 4. Price was first teased for the upcoming season last week. It won’t be long before you will be able to dive into Season 4, because it kicks off next week on June 3....

I bloody love Command & Conquer - and honestly, I think the strategy series birthed by Westwood Studios has had a hard time. All too often it gets lumped in with those studios and franchises that floundered once in the possession of Electronic Arts - C&C did just fine in the wake of Westwood’s closure in 2003. In real terms the series only produced one dud, the steaming turd that was C&C 4: Tiberium Twilight, a closing chapter so dire it essentially single-handedly sealed the series’ fate despite following a couple of quality, well-selling efforts....

Fast & Furious Crossroads has a release date, and you can check out some gameplay of it below. Originally slated for May alongside the release of the film, the game will arrive on August 7. It features a multiplayer mode and a story campaign starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson. The cast also includes Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead) and Asia Kate Dillon (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum)....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake publisher Square Enix, who previously warned that some physical copies will be delayed as a result of disruption caused by coronavirus, has sort of found a solution. The company announced today that copies intended for Europe and and Australia have been shipped earlier than usual. Square Enix hopes that this will ensure those copies will arrive at launch in those regions, but it’s also aware that doing this risks getting them to some players ahead of the game’s global launch....

In a recent interview with IGN, Zampella opened up about the future of DICE LA after a milestone year for Respawn, which saw the release of battle royale titan Apex Legends and Force-frenzied Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. During the interview with IGN, Zampella confirmed that DICE LA will not be assimilated into Respawn, and will instead retain their own sense of self. He also reckons their next game is probably going to be a shooter built in Frostbite....

Paradox and its employees have formalized an agreement with Swedish unions Unionen and SACO. Under the terms of the agreement, employees will have influence over their pay, benefits, responsibilities, and more. The agreement will apply to all Paradox employees working at locations within Sweden. “In the 20-plus years we’ve been in operation, Paradox has always been a growing company, but that growth has been especially dramatic in the last few years,” said Marina Hedman, chief human resources officer at Paradox Interactive....

There doesn’t appear to be any grand reasoning behind the price cuts but, considering their infrequency, you shouldn’t sleep on a rare Switch game discount. Of the lot, Fire Emblem: Three Houses for $49.94 is perhaps the best of the bunch. The Switch RPG is easily one of the console’s best games. Plus, more DLC is on the way soon in the form of a secret fourth house that has been living under the grounds of Garreg Mach Monastery....

The voice actor, most famous for his performance as The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, had moved on with his life after the original Witcher game released and was met with mild acclaim. Eventually, a sequel, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, was greenlit by developer CD Projekt. As we’re seeing more and more nowadays, install sizes for games are becoming a bit ridiculous. As regular updates to games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Destiny 2 show, it’s not long before they’re ballooning up to over 100GB in size. To celebrate the Xbox Summer Game Fest, which runs from July 21- 27, you’ll be able to download and play over 60 new demos. These demos will be a little different to what you’re used to and will be more like floor show demos as opposed to ones that represent a finished game. Respawn’s adventure set in a galaxy far, far away launched back in November 2019 and this is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen the game fall to so far. It’s a decent RPG, too, that takes a few inspirations from the likes of Dark Souls to create something that was a hit with the critics. It’s been a pretty popular purchase, too, with EA reporting it exceeded expectations by selling over eight million copies back in January of this year....

Digital Devil Story Trading Card Game is a discontinued Persona trading card game that isn’t archived in the west. As a result, it’s pretty difficult to get your hands on cards - which is why a group of fans are attempting to build a digital equivalent that’s more widely accessible. “This is a trading card game Atlus had in circulation starting in 1997,” the poster wrote on ResetEra. By calling on it, you effectively have another one of you fighting alongside you. Needless to say, Elden Ring players quickly realised that they can create boss-destroying loadouts for their mimics, and then switch back to their standard loadout after summoning it....
