The latest entry in Ubisoft’s long-running open-world adventure series was called “a slow burn that flourishes into a rewarding experience” in the VG247 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla review. It is, undoubtedly, a massive game – and excellent value for money at this price. But it’s not just a case of having loads of stuff to do in this tussle between the Assassins and the Templars. What Valhalla does so effectively is weave in famous figures from the era while giving you the freedom to roam around a vast expanse of England around 865 AD. Except, of course, when it unceremoniously dumps you back to the real world for a bit of tedious storytelling. That’s only a small niggle, though, amidst all the greatness the game offers in events, combat and exploration. If you’ve been holding off for an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla deal, now’s the time to pick it up.
