The Mox are a gang that protect working men and women in Night City, Led by Judy Alvarez - who has a very cool Radiohead tattoo - they’re based in Lizzie’s Bar, where they have a variety of Braindance stations set up. Evelyn Parker appears to be one of the gang’s more prominent members. As a matter of fact, that’s why V has to visit the Mox during the prologue gameplay we saw during the Night City Wire livestream last month. If you’re keen to know more about that, we also put together a deep dive into the Braindance, which is basically Cyberpunk 2077’s version of Geralt’s Witcher senses. Anyway, a poster over on Reddit seems to have discovered what the deal with Evelyn Parker is - or, more specifically, what her fingers are made out of. In the world of Cyberpunk 2077, people regularly purchase cybernetic augmentations in order to make themselves stronger, so it comes as no surprise that Evelyn’s hands are a bit more technologically-advanced than normal. “Rippers: longer, heavier versions of scratchers,” reads the Reddit post, which appears to centre on an item description. “The top two joints of each finger are replaced with a plastic and metal sheath, in which three inch carbo-glas claws are housed. The rippers can be extended by clawing the hand in a catlike fashion.” “Most people wear false fingernails over their rippers, making them much harder to spot,” the description continues. “Rippers are considered a form of black market cybertech and as such are not accessible through the average on-the-Mall clinic. Rippers cut in all directions, and are considered Edged weapons for AP purposes.” So there you have it - Evelyn Parker has three inch carbo-glas knives for fingers, which means she’s basically Wolverine. Probably best to stay on her good side. If you’re interested in nabbing your own rippers, it’s worth noting that Cyberpunk 2077’s melee system isn’t like the one we saw during the original gameplay reveal. You can check out what we thought of the new melee system in our hands-on impressions piece.
