But ahead of trying out the follow-up to Oddworld Inhabitants’ long-anticipated platformer, you can check out a launch trailer for the game that sets the tone, teases gameplay, and shows you some of the horrors that are to come as Abe continues his bizarre adventure. In the action-adventure platformer, Abe returns to carry on the story that kicked off in 2014’s Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty. Freed from being a capitalist drone in a “clueless cog in a mega-corporate machine,” Abe is now a savior of the Mudokons. Applying his stealth and puzzle-solving skills to fain followers, Abe needs to think smart in order to scavenge goods and craft weapons to liberate his fellow creatures. Check out the launch trailer below. If you’re on this page, you probably already knew Oddworld: Souldstorm is coming to PS Plus in April alongside Days Gone and Zombie Army 4: Dead War. You can hit the links to learn more about any of those games if you care to learn more. A physical edition of the game is due to launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 6. Oddworld: Soulstorm is the second game in a quintology, apparently, and makes use of a 2.9D setup that shows off “epic environments with massive scale to explore by going into the world, rather than being limited to the traditional side-scrolling platformer sense”. “|Oddworld: Soulstorm continues Abe’s evolutionary story,” says a press release. “You will learn that revolutions start small, but real and lasting change requires the power of many and the power of hope. And that opposing forces will use every means at their well-funded disposal, from propaganda to brute force, to beat back even the smallest uprising.” Viva la revolution, Abe.
